Real Estate Photos: Quick Cleaning Guide
Tips on how to clean and prepare for your photographers arrival to make the most of your session!
First impressions count — especially online. Preparing your home before a real estate photoshoot ensures it looks its absolute best in marketing images. Clean, tidy, and uncluttered spaces photograph better, making rooms appear brighter, more spacious, and more inviting. Removing distractions like personal items, bins, and mess allows potential buyers to visualise themselves living in the space. High-quality photos can attract more interest, increase inspections, and ultimately help your property sell faster and potentially at a higher price. A little preparation goes a long way in making a lasting impression.
We recommend all of our client's prepare by following a short list below
Sweep leaves from driveway, patios, and all cement areas
Put away dishes and appliances
Clean all mirrors and reflective surfaces for a polished look
Declutter kitchen and bathroom benches (toothbrushes, skincare, towels, etc.)
Remove all indoor bins from sight
Hide outdoor wheelie bins completely from view
Keep decor minimal – less is more for styling
Store away personal items such as family photos, calendars, and name signs
Tidy beds and fluff cushions
Ensure toilet lids are closed
Open blinds and turn on all lights for bright, inviting spaces
